Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa

Start your trek through the lush rainforest, where you’ll likely spot some wildlife as you make your way to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

Distance: 8 km
Duration: 5-6 hours
Altitude: Shira 1 Camp at 3,610 meters (11,844 feet) above sea level

Climb up to the Shira Plateau, where the forest gives way to moorland. Enjoy the expansive views of the plateau and Kilimanjaro's peaks.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Begin your summit attempt just after midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak by sunrise, then descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest after a long and challenging day.

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Altitude: Mweka Gate at 1,640 meters (5,380 feet) above sea level
